Kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia

With a few interruptions, the northern Italian region belonged to Austria as then constituted from 1714 to 1859 (Lombardy) or 1866 (Venetia).

Here metal coin was preferred as a general fiduciary medium. However, the notes of the Vienna City Bank and, later, those of the Privileged Austrian National Bank were also valid and circulated throughout the entire kingdom.
