Auction-Highlight: 3 Taler-Klippe Salzburg 1628

When Salzburg Cathedral was destroyed by fire in the 16th century, the foundation stone for the new building was laid in 1614. Then, on September 25^th 1628, the cathedral was rededicated in an eight-day celebration under Prince-Archbishop Paris von Lodron (1586-1653). This occasion was depicted many times on coins, both in ducats and in talers and multiple talers – like this 3 Talerklippe. This is an extremely rare variant, still unedited, with a cloverleaf on the reverse.
